Lady Techsters earn bid to WNIT

Louisiana Tech's first round WNIT game against SMU will tip at 7 p.m. CST Thursday night at the Thomas Assembly Center. The Lady Techsters and Mustangs will meet for the 18th time on the hardwood but the first time since the 2004-05 season when SMU ventures to Ruston for the post-season event. The winner of the contest between Louisiana Tech and SMU will go on the road to face Illinois State in the second round. The Redbirds were the regular season champion out of the Missouri Valley Conference but lost to Evansville in the league tournament.

    Wow, I think this may be the first WAC "team for life" team to make a post season tournament (not counting Boise St. and Nevada in the CBI, especially after Nevada's embarassing 1st Rd loss to the hated UTEP team). Congrats to the Ladies in Blue and Red!
